Play in a mixtape, a radio recording or a burned mix CD. SetSlice finds every song, even when they run straight into each other, and gives you each one as its own MP3, named and tagged. Even the songs you forgot.
Real result from a 48-minute recording: every song named in about 3 minutes.
Sound familiar?
Finger hovering over the record button, waiting for the DJ to stop talking. You caught the songs. Nobody wrote down the names.
Hand-picked, in a very particular order. The J-card faded years ago, or there never was one.
Labelled in Sharpie, ripped as Track 01 to Track 18. SetSlice puts the real names back.
How it works
Connect a tape deck, Walkman or CD drive to your computer and play the whole side straight through.
It recognises each song and finds exactly where it starts, even with no gap between songs.
Separate MP3s with artist, title, album, year and cover art, in the order they were on the tape.
Why SetSlice
Vinyl and CD software names tracks by looking up the album. A mixtape is your own album, so SetSlice listens to each song instead.

Questions
A Windows computer and something to play your tapes on: a tape deck or Walkman connected to your computer's line-in, or a USB cassette player (they cost about $20–30). For burned CDs, any CD drive.
The song-finding engine works today: it has split and named real hour-long recordings where songs run straight into each other. Right now it runs on recordings made in Audacity (free). Early access is for the all-in-one app that records your tape for you as well.
It recognises songs found in large music catalogues, which covers most of what was on the radio and in mixtapes. Very obscure or unreleased tracks may come back as "unknown" for you to name yourself.

SetSlice is for digitizing tapes and CDs you own, for your own listening. It doesn't download or record anything from the internet.
